In a thrilling display of cricket prowess, GD Goenka Public School, Sitapur, recently hosted the A. N. T. N Memorial Cricket Tournament. The tournament was called open on 16th February by the Principal. The tournament featured teams like Goenkan Royals, Goenkan Warriors, Goenkan Stars, and Goenkan Riders, captained by Dheeru Agarwal, Abhijeet Tripathi, Nityanand J, and Anshul M, respectively. The knockout tournament witnessed intense battles, The first day matches were played by Goenkan Warriors facing off against Goenkan Riders. Goenkan Warriors won the toss and chose to bat, with Abhijeet Tripathi leading the charge with 32 runs. The bowlers of Goenkan Riders, Ashish and Kaushal, gave a tough fight, but Goenkan Warriors posted a total of 102 runs. In response, Goenkan Riders’ batsmen, Asif and Kaushal, fell short, and Goenkan Warriors emerged victorious, securing their spot in the final.The second match featured Goenkan Royals and Goenkan Stars. Goenkan Royals, led by captain Dheeru Agarwal, set a formidable target of 109 runs. Anoop’s impressive 39 runs and solid bowling from Vivek Singh and others led to Goenkan Royals defeating Goenkan Stars, who scored 88 runs in their innings. The much-anticipated final between Goenkan Warriors and Goenkan Royals unfolded with stellar performances. Himanshu Shukla’s exceptional 50 runs and Sahim’s unbeaten 60 runs guided Goenkan Warriors to victory. Yash wardhan contributed 14 runs (not out), and their bowlers, Yash wardhan and Rajat, showcased remarkable skills, securing a total of 3 wickets each. Goenkan Royals, led by Aman Singh’s commendable 52 runs, put up a spirited fight but ultimately finished as the runner-up. The Man of the Match was awarded to Himanshu Shukla for his outstanding performance, scoring 50 runs and taking 3 wickets in the final. Abhijeet Tripathi was named the Man of the Series for his impressive all-round display, scoring 32 runs and taking 5 wickets throughout the tournament. Principal Mrs. Trishla Shah presented the trophies, acknowledging the dedication and sportsmanship displayed by the teams. The A. N. T. N Memorial Cricket Tournament proved to be a resounding success, celebrating the spirit of cricket and camaraderie among the students.
